Licry Bicard
Licry Bicard (El Salvador, 1944) is a distinguished Salvadoran artist whose work spans painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture. Between 1972 and 1979 she trained under renowned masters José Sánchez Carralero, Valero Lecha, and Benjamín Saúl, cultivating the technical depth and expressive sensibility that define her practice. Across decades of creative work, Bicard has built a rich and varied body of art rooted in Salvadoran identity and the broader Latin American tradition. In 1994 she founded her own art conservation studio alongside Roberto Arce, dedicating herself not only to creating art but to preserving it for future generations. Her work has been exhibited extensively and forms part of both national and international collections — a testament to its enduring resonance. In 2004, the Legislative National Assembly of El Salvador honored Licry Bicard as Painter of Merit, recognizing a lifetime of artistic excellence and her lasting contribution to the cultural heritage of El Salvador.
Mauricio Linares-Aguilar
Mauricio Linares-Aguilar was born in Ahuachapán, El Salvador in 1966. The artist works in a variety of media, often locally sourced, seeking concrete relationships of color, form, and light that paradoxically suggest the infinite possibilities inherent in our lives. He produces paintings, drawings, printmaking works, photographs, installations and other interdisciplinary oeuvres. Linares-Aguilar has participated in several group exhibitions around the world, and he also has exhibited his work individually nineteen times. He received his Bachelor of Arts, BA at the Applied School of Arts, Jose Matias Delgado University, El Salvador. Then, the Master of Fine Arts, MFA at the Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences of the University of Arkansas, USA. Anamarina Avilés
Anamarina Avilés is a painter with thirty-seven years of work behind her: seven solo exhibitions and more than a hundred group shows across Central America and the United States. She has worked in painting, sculpture, printmaking and engraving; today she paints in acrylic, oil and watercolour, and mixes techniques in some pieces, including figures cut from wood. Her subject is the stories of women and girls with sweet, nostalgic gazes, surrounded by organic detail. Nature is always in the picture: leaves, flowers, butterflies, birds. She wants each work to carry a spiritual charge of hope and to give off, in strong colour, a positive energy. The aim is to make spaces that feel encouraging, with faith in the future. Her first solo show was at Galería de Arte Saravia in San Salvador in 1995. Since then she has shown at Museo Forma, the Centro Cultural de España, DIVA Art Gallery and the MARTE art competition in El Salvador, and in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and the United States, including the Mint Museum in Charlotte.
